Technologies Benefit Lives: Grand Opening of the Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2018

On October 11, hosted by China Disabled Persons’ Federation, with China Assistive Devices and Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities and Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation as organizers and Guangzhou Poly Jinhan Exhibition Co., Ltd. as co-organizer, the Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2018 (CR Expo 2018) grandly kicked off at China National Convention Center. 

Themed “New Outlook for Care & Rehabilitation”, with an extended area of 25,000 m2, the CR Expo 2018 gathers nearly 350 renowned companies from 22 countries and regions, displaying innovative products and technological achievements in areas like rehabilitation and assistive devices. The three-day exhibition is expected to receive about 50,000 professional visitors and buyers.

The Rehabilitation Pavilion wholly covers products related to children and adults, with advanced therapies and technologies emerging in endlessly. Tiger Co. Ltd brings the overall solutions for lalopathy and applies the AI and cloud computing technologies to promote the effective linkage among hospitals, rehabilitation agencies and families; Qianjing Rehabilitation proposes the “Rehabilitation & Care House” solution, building the new mode of remote rehabilitation guidance service for the elderly in the cloud environment; JC Health Care displays multiple functions including the integrated massage therapy in the space spa capsule and vaporization spa, fully excavating the rehabilitation value of spa; the Fourier M2 upper limb rehabilitation robot self-developed by Fourier Intelligence can build more effective treatment and collaboration relations between patients and rehabilitation therapists through customized rehabilitation training.   

The Prosthesis and Orthoses Pavilion gathers the cutting-edge technologies around the world and delivers the warmth of technology through individualized wearing experience. The bionic knee, feet and quantum limb newly launched by Össur enable the users to break the limit of life; the Bebionic super intelligent bionic hand exhibited by Ottobock supports 14 kinds of reach-to-grasp movements, which simulates the functions of real hand in a perfect way; the lower limb prosthesis - full touched load bearing hydraulic system brought by Reha International uses the static hydraulic pressure to simulate the state where the user bears load wearing the prothesis, which guarantees the excellent matching degree and great comfort; the fashion prosthesis shell customized for the physically disabled by Frieden with the usage of 3D printing technology beautifies the prosthesis. 

The Vision and Hearing Pavilion opens the eyes of visitors with numerous small and fine goods. RevoSight, the first AR smart glasses in the world, displayed by Rejoin, can adjust the vision mode automatically in line with the symptoms of the visually impaired patients, breaking the limit of traditional vision assistance method; the AngelEye smart glasses proposed by NextVPU assists the visually impaired to better experience the world by simulating human’s eye to transform vision to hearing; the well-known hearing brands such as Starkey, Resound, Austar and AcoSound also bring the latest hearing assistive devices, cochlear prosthesis and hearing detective equipment, providing more comfortable hearing experience for the hearing-impaired group.  

The Barrier-Free Pavilion is the base for leading factories in the industry such as Vermeiren, Wisking, Kaiyang, Kawamura, Matsunaga and Permobil, displaying the movement assistive devices such as wheelchair, walking aid and scooter together. Canyou, Maxus and Jinglingshun also launch several barrier-free welcabs to help those with difficulty in movement to realize the dream of independent travelling.  

The Assistive Device Achievements Pavilion is led by China Assistive Devices and Technology Center for Persons with Disabilities and six national assistive devices regional centers of Liaoning, Sichuan, Hubei, Jiangsu, Gansu and Guangdong to exhibit contents like assistive devices adaptation, talents training, service project implementation and quality detection, displaying the achievements gained by the local assistive devices affairs in an all-round way.  
The Overseas and Taiwan Region Pavilion first established by this Expo also attracts much attention. Over 10 renowned companies from the Canadian exhibitors group bring cutting-edge products such as exoskeleton robots, intelligent rehabilitation training system, virtual nursing system and smart wheelchair. Korea, Japan, Israel and China Taiwan also send companies to the exhibition, regarding this expo as the first station to water-test the Chinese market.
 


Interactive Experience Continues to Upgrade and Products Selection Sets off Crazes 

With “Technology + Assistive Devices· Gofun·So Fun ” as the theme, the Interactive Experience Activity Pavilion is the first attempt of the Expo since being held. This pavilion covers diverse experience contents such as winter Paralympic projects experience, creativity class, assistive devices of barrier-free travelling, vision and hearing experience area and knowledge garden of assistive devices, enabling the audience to fully experience the great charm of collision between technology and assistive devices. 
 


Thirty innovative products selected by the preliminary assessment of experts and online voting will be showcased at the “2018 CR Expo Product Innovation Contest” innovative products exhibition area and go for the “Best Popularity Award”. The audience at site can vote for their favorite products through WeChat code scanning.   

Concurrent Activities are Held with Highlights While Elites Gather Together to Explore the Industrial Hot Spots

On the first day of the Expo, professional conferences such as Global Summit Forum on Disability and Development, the 9th International Forum on Low Vision, International Forum on Assistive Devices Standard Research, Assistive Devices Multilateral Cooperation Project Colloquium and China Rehabilitation and Elderly Care Forum were also convened at the same location, which were crowed with audience. Over 1,000 experts and scholars from countries like China, the US, Canada, Norway, Australia, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka, Israel, India and Japan gathered together to conduct deep discussion on hot issues in domestic and overseas rehabilitation and assistive devices while keeping a foothold in the frontier of the industry and focusing on the development reality, so as to realize the multi-party cooperation and win-win results collaboratively.
