CR Expo 2019 is hosted by China Disabled Persons’ Federation, organized by China Assistive Devices and Technology Centre for Persons with Disabilities and Beijing Disabled Persons’ Federation, and co-organized by Guangzhou Poly Jinhan Exhibition Co., Ltd. (Poly Exhibition). It is the only domestic national-level exhibition on care and rehabilitation of the disabled and the elderly. After 12 years of development, CR Expo continues to accumulate momentum and lead the industry in a more open and inclusive manner. It is an important window to showcase the development of China’s industry of assistive devices and technology, as well as the undertakings for the disabled. It is also a comprehensive and high-level platform for communication and trade, integrating policies, production, learning, research, and application.

 

“By 2020, when a moderately well-off society has been built in an all-round way, every disabled person will share the prosperity.” The Communist Party of China and the government attach great importance to  affairs concerning the disabled, and have introduced a series of guidelines and policies to ensure their basic livelihood, expand public services, and accelerate the development of the industry of assistive devices and technology, which have increasingly sped up the process for the well being of the disabled.

 

As the most influential national-level exhibition of assistive devices and technology in China, Care & Rehabilitation Expo China 2019 (CR Expo) will be held from October 10 to 12 at China National Convention Center in Beijing. It will cover an area of 25,000 m2, and attract 350 corporate brands from 16 countries and regions as well as nearly 50,000 professional visitors.

 

At the press conference, Mr. Feng Li, Deputy Director of Rehabilitation Department of China Disabled Persons’ Federation, introduced the preparations, supporting activities and creative highlights of CR Expo 2019.

 

I. Incorporating the Belt and Road High-level Event on Disability Cooperation

 

In addition to CR Expo 2019, one of the important contents of the Belt and Road High-level Event on Disability Cooperation, more than 30 concurrent events will be held, including the 3rd Global Conference on Assistive Devices and Technology, ASEM High-level Meeting on Disability, Beijing International Forum on Rehabilitation, etc., which will be attended by representatives from dozens of countries and regions and promote profound and steady cooperation in the field of assistive devices and technology in countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

 

 

II. Pooling High-quality Resources and Pragmatically Promoting the Development of Assistive Devices and Technology

 

(1) Gathering of brands. All leading enterprises at home and abroad will participate in the exhibition.

 

350 well-known brands from 16 countries and regions including Sweden, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Britain, Germany, France, the United States, Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Iceland, South Korea and China will display their new products and service ideas.

 

(2) High professionalism. The subdivision of the exhibition area will promote the accurate docking of supply and demand.

 

The three basic areas including rehabilitation, prosthetics/orthotics, and barrier-free life will be further consolidated and strengthened, and special areas such as rehabilitation, elderly caring, vision, special education, and accessories of assistive devices will be effectively supplemented, driving deep integration of assistive devices and disability helping, medical treatment, and elderly caring.

 

 

(3) Full range of products. The exhibits will cover the entire industrial chain of assisive devices

 

The exhibits including not only moving and transporting, prosthetic orthopedics, audiovisual communication, home life, monitoring and nursing, rehabilitation and medical treatment, barrier-free facilities, assistive cars, but also numerous service solutions such as rehabilitation assessment software, health management, personalized services and multi-angle applications of culture and sports, meeting the needs of various audiences.

 

(4) Upgraded products. More new technologies and applications will be displayed.

 

Exhibits at this CR Expo will show an intelligent and lightweight trend and cover a wide range, such as the world’s lightest folding wheelchair, the lightest power knee joint, the first intelligent IoT rehabilitation training systems, the first smart glasses, the first tangible braille map, the smallest eye control instrument with the best performance.

 

 

III. Demonstratively Leading in Disseminating Advanced Concepts and Technologies

 

(1) Displaying and experiencing.

 

In the same period, a “Barrier-free Harbor Exhibition Area for Laborers”, a service area for helping the disabled, and a caring public area for the disabled will bring one-stop service experience for visitors with disabilities.

 

(2) Forums and meetings.

 

Mainly including: more than 10 conferences and forums, such as Exchange Conference on Policies of Assistive Devices and Technology, Global Partnership Conference on Assistive Technology, Forum on Industry and Education - Rehabilitation Industry Handshaking Vocational Education, Summit Forum on Education and Rehabilitation of Exceptional Children, International Forum on Low Vision Rehabilitation, making full use of the Expo as a platform for promotion and exchange of new policies, plans, and technologies in the development of the industry of assistive devices and technology, guiding the direction for the industry.

 

 

(3) Promotion and cooperation.

 

Mainly including: launch events of new products and technology, launching of the 1st Jingdong Shopping Festival on Care & Rehabilitation, establishment of negotiation zones, etc., giving full play to the trade promotion role of the Expo, facilitating cooperation in and out of the Expo, online and offline.

 

 

In addition, in order to make it convenient for the disabled and elderly audiences in Beijing to visit CR Expo, the organizing committee will set up multiple stations in Beijing to provide free shuttle buses. At the exhibition site, persons with disabilities will be provided with wheelchair rental, green access, volunteer guidance and other humanized services. Visitors who have pre-registered can self-certify with the registration code for fast and convenient admission.
